A Year of Growth, Connection and Gratitude — My AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award Journey

What an incredible year it has been!
My journey with the AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award has been nothing short of transformative culminating in the inspiring Gala Dinner at Parliament House on Tuesday night. Standing in that grand hall, surrounded by so many passionate, innovative, and resilient women, I was reminded of the power of community and connection in shaping the future of rural Australia.

Over the past year, this experience has pushed me to grow in ways I never expected. I’ve developed new skills in media, public speaking, and business growth, met extraordinary people who are changing their industries, and gained a network of women who I now proudly call my sisters.

A huge congratulations to Carol Mudford, the National Winner, for her remarkable work with Shedway supporting mental health in the sheep industry, and to Isabella Thrupp, the National Runner-Up, for her inspiring denim brand Prinkin Pindan. Both women are shining examples of innovation, compassion, and leadership in action.

To my fellow state finalists  Belle, Emma, Marie, Nikki, Kristy, Sarah, Mary, and Nicole what an honour it has been to share this journey with you. Each of you brings something unique and powerful to the table, and I am so proud of the impact we are all making across our communities.

This award may have started as a recognition, but it has become so much more an investment in women, in rural innovation, and in the future of our regions. I’m incredibly grateful to AgriFutures for creating a platform that celebrates the ideas and initiatives driving positive change across Australia.

Here’s to continuing the work, the conversations, and the connections and to every woman out there with a dream to make a difference.
